Founded in 2019, Orange Poetry Africa is building a trusted home for exceptional spoken-word voices—across artist development, public culture, creative production and institutional partnership.

We should be defined by the structural problem we solve—not by a list of activities.
Orange Poetry Africa began by making Nigerian and African spoken-word work easier to find. It raised expectations for how the work could be filmed, presented and shared, then built physical community through the Orange Poetry Live Show and other public programmes.
Today, our creative practice serves brands, NGOs, institutions and cultural projects. But the longer institutional ambition is larger: to build the judgment, standards, support and relationships that help exceptional artists move beyond isolated moments of visibility into durable creative lives.

Ebiotu Tamarakuro—known publicly as Director Ebiotu—founded Orange Poetry on 31 December 2019.
The platform began formal operations and expanded its work with poets, audiences and creative communities.

The recurring Live Show, first Film Festival and poetry-film production established a visible public record.
Slams, musical theatre and seasonal experiences widened the work across Abuja and Lagos.

Director Ebiotu
A studio producer, film director and media strategist, Ebiotu founded Orange Poetry in 2019. He leads the institution’s creative direction, production practice and long-term work to build stronger public culture and more durable careers around exceptional African spoken-word voices.
