Notable Achievements

Since our inception, Orange Poetry Organization has made significant strides in promoting spoken word poetry across Africa and beyond.

Here are some of our key milestones and accomplishments:

#ShareYourAfrica Challenge (May 2023)

Presented by Apollo Endeavor in partnership with Orange Poetry, the #ShareYourAfrica Challenge was held in celebration of Africa Month. This challenge showcased the beauty and diversity of Africa through the power of poetry and visual storytelling. One of the contents from the challenge was featured on Meta’s page, which has over 20 million followers, and three selected entries were highlighted on Tunde Ednut’s platform. The winners, @tamaradogubo, @iamdestiny777, and @moyosolaolowokure, captivated audiences with their unique perspectives, blending words and visuals to celebrate the richness of African culture.

Promoting Poetry Across Africa

Since our inception, we have produced and showcased videos of over fifty poets from across Africa, amplifying their voices and enriching the poetry landscape.

Orange Poetry Live Show

We have successfully held three editions of the Orange Poetry Live Show from June to August 2024, providing a platform for poets to perform and connect with a live audience, further enriching the spoken word community.

Collaborations with Literary Organizations

We have partnered with the Abuja Literary Society, covering events like the ALITFEST Poetry Slam in 2022 and 2023, and the Lagos International Poetry Festival (LIPFEST) slam event. In 2023, we documented the Port Harcourt Poetry Festival.

International Connections

We have collaborated with globally recognized poets such as Dike Chukwumerije, Graciano Enwerem, and Rudy Francisco, contributing to global poetry conversations through interviews and artistic exchange.

Orange Poetry Tour (August 2022)

The Orange Poetry Tour featured prominent poets like Dike Chukwumerije, Loveth Liberty (@lovethliberty), Pariolodo (@iampariolodo), and Abass Shitu, extending our shared vision of creating a multimedia platform for creatives to showcase their work. This event fostered a creative community and connected poets with a broader audience.

Pariolodo's LOVE IS NOT FOR THE BROKE (2023)

In partnership with Pariolodo, we hosted this solo performance in Abuja, which explored the complexities of transactional love and its socio-political implications. The event was humorous, thought-provoking, and a critical reflection on modern relationships.
